Carmela Fonbuena
Carmela Fonbuena is the executive director of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism. She joined the organization in January 2021, bringing her experience as former senior reporter of Rappler, correspondent of international newspaper The Guardian, and researcher and staff writer for Newsbreak investigative magazine. She has a masters in Political Communication from Cardiff University in the UK. She wrote the book Marawi Siege: Stories from the Frontlines based on her coverage of the 2017 conflict.
